I have been hunting with Midwest Custom Hunts for the past two years, and I will be a client for the rest of my life. I dedicated my childhood and my life to chase my dream of one day being an NFL quarterback, so I know the amount of time and dedication it takes to be a professional. Every time I spend a week during the season with Shane and his staff at the lodge, I feel like I am back in a locker room of professionals. Shane and his staff prepare all year round to make sure every hunt for each client is like a hunt for themselves. The dedication and passion Shane and his staff put into your time in camp is unparalleled to any hunting experience anybody else can offer. It is not uncommon to see 20+ deer a sit and have a buck of a life walk by at any moment. I booked with Midwest Custom Hunts after hunting with different outfitters in the midwest over the last 7 years. I finally found a good hardworking group of guys that want success for their hunters. Shane and his guys will do what it takes to put you on good deer and make your trip a success. Whether it's in the timber on a field edge or overlooking one of there many food plots, they have different stands for different winds to get you on the deer of your dreams. Midwest Custom Hunts is my outfitter of choice, and I won't look anywhere else. Oh, and the cooking and accommodations are top notch which is an added bonus! I had seen a couple of shooter bucks on my first archery hunt with Shane, and even though I was unsuccessful, I will be returning to hunt with him due to his professional operation and his dedication to getting you on that deer of a lifetime!

I recently had the opportunity to hunt with Shane and Ryan of Midwest Custom Hunts in Missouri. The hunt was professionally run and of high quality. I was able to hunt different stands everyday without any overlap and I saw shooter bucks from every stand. I was fortunate enough to take a great buck at 31 yards with my bow. During the course of the hunt, I saw a total of 41 bucks, several of them with a score above 150 and one over 160. Shane and Ryan run an excellent operation with over 10,000 acres of available hunting land.
The lodge was excellent with 5 bathrooms to accommodate hunters. In addition, the camp chef Bob, is a true artisan who provides incredible meals throughout the day.

Firstly, I have hunted several times for turkey and deer with Midwest Custom Hunts. Shane, Ryan, and the entire staff always have been extremely friendly and accommodating. They make you feel like family as do the numerous hunters I have met at the lodge (and subsequently befriended beyond the guided trips). Midwest Custom Hunts really attracts a group of “all-around good guys.”
Secondly, the guides at Midwest Custom Hunts are hunters themselves and know how to manage the hunting lands and practice conservation. They always have been willing to hunt as hard as I want without being pushing and insisting on a certain way of doing things. The guides will switch your deer stand midday or belly crawl with you across a field after a turkey if you are up for it. On the other hand, I have seen them cater to more casual hunters and provide them with the most comfortable hunts possible and never complain about picking up a hunter midday when he gets hungry for lunch or too cold (this is not with case with other outfitters I have used).
Finally, the land access and game available is incredible. The prices of the hunts reflect the group’s opinion that the land should not be overwhelmed and unnecessarily disturbed simply to turn a profit. Instead, the prices highlight the outfitter’s desire to cater to hunters individually and offer better game opportunities. I have harvested on all of my hunts, but I feel that it is a combination of my drive for success (this is still hunting, and you have to work to maximize your opportunities), the superb land management, and ambition of the guides.
I have hunted with many outfitters and typically choose new ones for each hunt simply to keep things interesting and the venues changing. The fact that I have hunted with Midwest Custom Hunts for years now indicates my extreme satisfaction with the value and enjoyment they continually offer. I encourage anyone to book a hunt with them.

Being a whitetail deer and turkey hunter from the South, I did not have a clue what was in store for me when I arrived at Midwest Custom Hunts for my eastern turkey hunt in the spring of 2015. Shane and his guides provided a first class experience that far exceeded my expectations and one that I will never forget. Turkeys are plentiful and the accommodations are great. Everyone at Midwest Custom Hunts is willing to go that extra mile to insure as quality of a hunt that you will find anywhere. Since then, I've returned to Midwest Custom Hunts each fall for deer as well as each spring for turkey. Each trip has created great memories of fine hunting, fine food and good friends and are experiences that I will never forget.
This is a class A operation that I would recommend to anyone. It was worth every penny, and I will definitely be back. Thanks to Shane and everyone at Midwest Custom Hunts for these wonderful memories and experiences, I look forward to creating many more.

Well where do I start! Shane and Ryan run a first class operation. From the amount of property they have to the quality of deer and the food and lodging. Between the two of them and their guides, they will put you on some deer. These guys will work around the clock to make sure that you will have your best chance at shooting a giant. If you only had one chance to go and hunt the Midwest. This place should be your first choice. Every year this place gets better and better. Every time I leave I look forward to the next year when I am coming back. Thanks Guys!

I have been hunting with Midwest Custom Hunts for 5 years now and that's because Shane runs a top notch operation! I have hunted whitetails & Turkeys with Midwest Custom Hunts and all my hunts have been great! These guys do it right from off season preparation, to the hunts themselves, and I can't forget Mr. Bob's fantastic cooking! Do yourself a favor & give Midwest Custom Hunts a try if your looking for a great midwest hunting experience.

Midwest Custom Hunts runs the highest quality outfitting business in the whitetail and turkey industry. My first hunt with Shane was October 1-4th in 2015. That weekend I saw 63 deer off of one stand where I passed three mature whitetails and had a shot opportunity on a 170in+ whitetail, but couldn’t get the deal done. We hunted again October 29- November 1st, and my father was able to harvest a mature buck for his first time with a compound. Two weekends later, November 12-15th we came back up to hunt two days with a bow and two days for the gun opener. Friday the 13th I connected on a 153inch 17pt. Once again saw unbelievable amounts of deer. In 2015 I also was lucky enough to draw shotgun tags for Iowa. On the weekend of December 5th Shane and I traveled from his lodge up to Iowa and on the 6th we connected with a 160inch 8pt during the last 30 minutes of the hunt. In 2016 we came back to hunt and brought our nephews for the Missouri youth season where all three nephews had shot opportunities as well as connecting on a 170inch 10pt. In the spring of 2016 my father and I were both successful. They have some phenomenal turkey hunting. On top of all of that, the food and lodging are top of the line. I guarantee you will be in the best situation possible on every sit. The only reason for you not to have an opportunity is due to mother nature.
